Watercolour paintings

I love the fluency of working in watercolour. I heard it once said that "painting in watercolour is no more than pushing a puddle around a page"

My approach certainly encompasses this idea.

Less is more

In the case of watercolour, less is definitely more and my aim is to be as efficient as possible yet portray and capture that fleeting transitory moment.

By using a limited palette I am able to use transparent layers of complementary colours to enhance the form and structure of the faces I paint.

The fewer colours I use the more vibrant the paintings become.
